Netherlands-based TNT has announced that it will sell of its logistics business to focus more on its core competencies—express and freight forwarding. According to CEO Peter Bakker, “The focus on networks and the exit of logistics will allow simplification of our organization.”
The move leaves the world’s top four logistics providers equally divided, said one analyst. DHL and UPS will remain as one-stop shop providers, while TNT and FedEx have chosen to focus more on their core business and less on such services as warehousing. wt
